Chinese Driver Ye Yifei Joins Renault Sport Academy

The 18-year-old, who hails from Xian, China is claimed to be one of the most promising stars of the junior categories. In 2019 Yifei will race for Hi-tech GP in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Yifei started karting aged ten, taking two national titles. At 14, he made the move to Europe and single-seaters. In 2016 Yifei became the first Chinese driver to win an international title winning  the French F4 championship with 14 wins, 17 fastest laps and 10 pole positions. Continue reading

F1 Champ Mika Häkkinen to Run Suzuka in McLaren 720s GT3

Häkkinen will make his debut start at the Suzuka 10 Hour alongside two-time Super Formula champion Hiroaki Ishiura and Japanese Formula 3 racer Katsuaki Kubota. The trio will drive the new 720S GT3 for the fourth round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli on 23-25 August. Like the Corvette Racing C7.R race cars, the Grand Sport-based Drivers Series models have a naturally aspirated V8 engine. The 6.2L LT1 engine is rated at 460 horsepower (343 kW)- this is sub 4 seconds zero-60 mph ETs. Bobby Rahal wins RRDC’s 2019 Phil Hill Award

Robert “Bobby” Woodward Rahal was born in Medina, Ohio, in 1953, and started in SCCA’s Formula Atlantic Series and then European Formula Two. In an 18-year career spanning F1, Can-Am, Le Mans/IMSA, and CART, Rahal won three CART championships, including the 1986 Indy 500 win, and wins at the 1981 24 Hours of Daytona and the 1987 12 Hours of Sebring. First 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition Sells for $2.5 Million

The breathtaking return for a production car followed the auction on Friday of the first 2020 VIN 001 of the Mustang Shelby GT500 for $1.1 million. Ford will donate in total $3.6 million to two long-time charity partners – $1.1 million to JDRF, for funding type 1 diabetes research and $2.5 million to support United Way for Southeastern Michigan.
