Limited Run of 2014 SRT Viper TA Coupes Coming this Fall
Chrysler Group’s SRT will offer 33 street-legal and single-spec 2014 SRT Viper TA (Time Attack) in special “Crusher Orange” beginning in the third quarter 2013. Cadillac Twin-Turbo Debuts in All-New 2014 CTS Sedan
Cadillac announced today a new 420 horsepower, turbocharged V6 engine and eight-speed transmission that will be used on the all-new 2014 CTS midsize sedan that debuts next week at the New York Auto Show. Cadillac said the force-fed V6 engine is the most power-dense six-cylinder engine in the mid-size luxury segment – displacing 3.6-liters at118 horsepower per liter (88 kW/liter). Continue reading

Spyker Plans for B6 Venator Concept Production in 2014
Dutch automaker Spyker N.V. showed its B6 Venator Concept, at the 83rd Geneva International Motor Show today. The ultra expensive gambit to revive the slumping company is a compact, 2-door mid-engine sports car. Currently Spyker sells the C8 Aileron, limited production 400 horsepower super coupe. Nissan Juke Nismo Arrives in U.S. this Spring
Nissan Motor at a dedication of its refurbished Nismo facility in Yokohama, Japan said that the first performance car coming from the new center will be a Juke, followed by the 2014 model 370Z. A new GT-R Nismo is also in the works. Nissan said more Nismo models will appear, at least one every year. All of the cars that the performance versions will be built from so far represent small volumes in the U.S., selling in January 2,400 Juke, 331 370Z and 48 GT-R models. The Nismo versions will be built in the same plants as the standard models.

Alfa Romeo 4C Debuts at Geneva – 2014 Model is U.S. Comeback Car
The new Alfa Romeo 4C will debut at the Geneva a Motor Show next month, the Italian sports car maker owned by Fiat said this morning. The two-seat, mid-engine designed sports car will be built at the Maserati plant in Modena, which is also the home of Fiat owned Ferrari. The 4C will go on sale in 2013, marking the return of the Italian brand to the United States. Continue reading

GM Moves Performance Build Center to Corvette Plant
GM is moving its Performance Build Center from Michigan to the Bowling Green Assembly Plant where the Chevrolet Corvette is assembled. The center allows customers to build their own specialty engines for installation in GM vehicles. Continue reading

First Look – New 2013 Chrysler 300 Glacier AWD
Chrysler has introduced a $37,840 300 Glacier model that is roughly based on an all-wheel drive version of the SRT8. With an eight-speed automatic transmission, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, and a more powerful300 horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine, the sedan is said to deliver best-in-class fuel economy of 18 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. 2014 Corvette Sticks with A Revised LT1 V8 Engine
When Chevrolet Corvette arrives late next year, most of the sports car will be all new, but not the 6.2L V8 engine. The latest Corvette LT1 engine, the first of the so-called Gen 5 family of Small Block engines, combines several advanced technologies, including direct injection for the first time, cylinder fuel shut off and continuously variable valve timing to support an advanced combustion system. Zero-to-60 mph times of less than four seconds are predicted for the base car. The new LT1 is the third engine in the Corvette’s history to be so-named, with previous versions introduced in 1970 (Gen 1) and 1992 (Gen 2). Continue reading
“Upscale” McLaren P1 Concept to Debut at Paris Motor Show
McLaren Automotive will show a concept of what it is calling the next generation ultimate supercar later this month. The P1 will be at the center of the McLaren stand at its first big league auto show, the Paris Motor Show or Mondial de l’Automobile 2012. Toyota Hybrid in First Win Beats Audi in Six Hours of Sao Paulo
A Toyota hybrid turned in a dominant performance at the Six Hours of Sao Paulo this weekend going from the pole to first place during the fifth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. It was the first overall win this year for the new hybrid racing team, which challenged Audi’s clear dominance in endurance racing by showing up at Le Mans last June, a year ahead of announced plans.
