Execs Changed at Changan Ford China JV. European Transformation Ongoing
Stuart Rowley was named president, Ford of Europe back on April 1, when Steve Armstrong was named Chairman of Ford Europe (and Ford had both there as it was undergoing its latest transformation plan strategy work). Stuart is now leader in Europe. The new role for Armstrong will be effective 1 October. He will report to Ford China President and CEO Anning Chen. Continue reading

General Motors, Ford Post Record May China Sales
General Motors and its joint ventures sold a May record of 252,942 vehicles in China, sales increasing 9.4% from the same month last year. Crosstown rival and slow starter in China, Ford Motor Company also posted a record from a year earlier to 70,540 passenger cars. Continue reading

Mazda Drops Ford Motor in New Changan Mazda JV in China
Continuing its separation and divorce from Ford Motor Company, Mazda Motor Corporation has announced a new Chinese joint-venture, Changan Mazda, based in Nanjing. The 50:50 corporation with all regulatory approvals is now responsible for all of CFMA’s Mazda-related business, including development, manufacturing, marketing and sales of Mazda-branded vehicles in China.
