Ford Europe to Build Three-Cylinder. U.S. Sales Promised
The new Ford three-cylinder engine arises in part from the success of the award-winning Fiat Twinair two-cylinder engine already on sale Europe. A large factor is also impending European emission standards that are forcing automakers to produce radical engine designs with low CO2 emissions. 260 MPG Volkswagen XL1 Debuts at Qatar Motor Show
Volkswagen is showing a two-seat XL1 prototype this week at the Qatar Motor Show in Daho that it claims uses 0.9 liters of gasoline for every 100 km traveled, or more than 260 miles per gallon for the metrically challenged. Continue reading

Toyota Tops EPA Economy and CO2 Emissions List
For the 2009 model year Toyota had the lowest fleetwide adjusted composite CO2 emissions – and highest fuel economy – performance, followed by Hyundai and Honda, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Strange Green Bedfellows – Stellantis and Aramco
Low carbon eFuel is a drop-in synthetic fuel made by reacting CO2, captured either directly from the atmosphere or from an industrial facility, with renewable hydrogen. The use of low carbon eFuel has the potential to reduce carbon dioxide emissions from existing internal combustion vehicles by at least 70% on a lifecycle basis, compared to conventional fuels its advocates claim.
