Milestones – 20 Years of Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA)** said today that it celebrated its 20th anniversary with a Team Member Appreciation Day on 3 May 3 2025, on the HMMA campus. The event brought together HMMA team members, their families, and special community guests for a day filled with family activities, plant tours, prize raffles, musical entertainment, and a closing fireworks display. Department of Labor Sues Hyundai U.S. Over Child Labor

UAW Freeloaders – Hyundai Ups Wages of US Factory Workers

Hyundai today announced wage increases for its production team members at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama (HMMA) and Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia. HMMA has been producing vehicles in Montgomery, Alabama since 2005. HMGMA, Hyundai’s EV-dedicated plant in Bryan County, Georgia, is scheduled to begin production in early 2025. In a move mirroring similar ones by non-unionized Toyota Motor and Honda in the US following the UAW Detroit Three contract sweep, wages will increase ~25%. Hyundai Motor Group, SK On Approve US Battery Cell JV

Five Million Vehicles from Hyundai in Alabama

The five millionth vehicle was a Hyundai Santa Cruz Sport Adventure Vehicle that was built on 27 July 2021. To reach this milestone, HMMA has produced 2,562,880 Sonatas, 1,489,568 Elantras, 908,779 Santa Fes, 36,989 Tucsons, and 1,784 Santa Cruzes. Continue reading →
