Porsche Sales Down in July, But Set New Record in China

Porsche said it had record sales in the Chinese market in July with deliveries of 2,484 vehicles, the best monthly result in China ever. In total the sports car manufacturer delivered 14,751 vehicles in the current financial year in what is now Porsche’s second largest market. This marks a 72.6 % increase compared with the period January to July 2010. The Cayenne especially is in strong demand in Asia. Continue reading

Porsche Consulting Opens U.S. Office in Atlanta

Porsche Consulting said today that it is opening an office in Atlanta, Georgia. The wholly-owned subsidiary automaker Porsche AG in Stuttgart was founded in 1994 and will formally begin operations in October with ten consultants. The Atlanta office will be the third foreign office, following ones in Milan, Italy and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Continue reading

Muscle Hybrids Decried for Performance in Hybrid Scorecard

The pressure group criticized the Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid, the new Porsche Cayenne Hybrid and BMW’s X6 and 750i Active Hybrids as among the worst-rated hybrids for environmental improvement because they emphasize power over economy in their design. Million Dollar Porsche 918 Hybrid on Sale – Only “918” Offered

The 918’s V8 engine delivers more than 368 kW or 500 horsepower. This is increased by two electric motors with a total of at least 160 kW (218 hp). Fuel consumption of 918 Spyder is estimated at three liters of fuel per 100 kilometers (~ 74 mpg) based on the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). Continue reading

Honda Ranks First for Automaker Website Satisfaction

Honda’s website ranks the highest among new vehicle shoppers, according to an automaker website evaluation study just released. Honda had the highest with a score of 836 on a 1,000-point scale, and performs particularly well in information/content, navigation and speed measures, according to J.D. Power and Associates.
