Ford Recalls for Diesel Pumps, Seat Belts, Rearview Cameras

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) is conducting recalls for more than 252,000 vehicles for a variety of safety defects including electrical system programming management and manufacturing assembly errors. The largest involves the loss of the rearview camera image and advanced driver assistance (ADAS) systems, including pre-collision assist, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring on model year 2022-2025 Lincoln Navigator, 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus, 2025 Lincoln Aviator and Explorer vehicles.

“The Image Processing Module A (IPMA) may experience a computational overload when tracking a high volume of moving objects in dense vehicle and pedestrian traffic environments. This overload can trigger a module reset; in certain instances, multiple module resets occurring over multiple ignition cycles can lead to a persistent loss of functionality,” Ford said in the mandatory safety defect recall filing made public by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) this morning.

“During or after a reset event, the instrument panel cluster may display warnings such as “Front Camera Fault, Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, and Lane-Keeping System Off.” The blind-spot indicators may also illuminate,” Ford said.

The Image Processing Module A software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge as required by Federal Safety regulations. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed today 30 March 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 26S21. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall are searchable on NHTSA.gov.

F-Series High Pressure Diesel Fuel-Pump Failures

“The 2020-2022 F-Super Duty F250, F350, F450, F550, 2021-2022 F600, and 2022 F750 vehicles were previously repaired incorrectly under NHTSA recall 24V957. Biodiesel deposits may form on the pump drivetrain roller components, which could lead to failure of the high pressure fuel pump,” Ford said in the mandatory safety defect recall filing made public by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration this morning.

Dealers will update the powertrain control module (PCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed today 30 March  2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 26S17. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on 18 March 2026.

Ford Motor is also recalling model-year  2020-2026 Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles. The seat belt anchor bolts at the second-row outer seating positions may be improperly secured.

Dealers will inspect the second-row outer seat belt lower anchor bolts and replace or repair them as necessary, free of charge as required by law. Owner notification letters were mailed 23 March 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 26C18.
