Toyota and ChargePoint to offer Home, Public EV Charging
The Toyota bZ4X is the first of a global series of battery-electric vehicles to be introduced under the “Toyota bZ” brand umbrella. Other partners in the green juggernaut now under full sail include BYD, Daihatsu and Suzuki. Toyota plans to introduce 15 BEV models by 2025, including seven new BEV models of the Toyota bZ series. The Toyota U.S. lineup in total, accounts for more than 40% of all alternative powertrain vehicles sold in the U.S. – including battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell electrics, hybrids and plug-in hybrids. Volkswagen Debuts ID.Buzz and ID.Buzz Cargo
As with other models of Volkswagen’s all-electric family, the new ID.Buzz and ID.Buzz Cargo are based on the Group’s Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB). The MEB is a scalable large-production-run platform. It provides the basis across the brands for different models and segments. At present, 30% of the few electric vehicles in the Group are based on the MEB. By 2025, it’s planned to be more than 80%. For Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the all-electric ID.Buzz is a building block to help reduce the carbon footprint of the whole product portfolio. Continue reading

Aston Martin Adds Jobs to Build DBX707 SUVS in Wales
DBX707 is extensively revised in what has become an ultra-competitive luxury SUV segment. Starting with the powertrain, a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, now has ball bearing turbochargers and a new engine calibration for more power and torque. Also new to Aston Martin’s flagship high performance SUV is a 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ automatic transmission. Capable of managing much increased torque loadings compared with a regular torque converter automatic. The high-performance transmission allows output of the 4.0-literV8 to increase to 707PS and 900Nm, increases of 157PS and 200Nm compared to the DBX (V8). Continue reading

The Tundra campaign was developed using Toyota’s Total Toyota (T2) marketing model, which it claims considers “trans-cultural mainstream audiences across America.” Toyota campaigns are integrated with one strategic brief, creative idea and media plan. Cadillac V-Series Line Adds 2023 Escalade
AutoInformed is guessing that it will have the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine as the new CT5-V Blackwing. Installed there, it is rated at 668 horsepower and 649 lb.-ft. of torque. The existing Escalade is rated at at 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. Next hunch – 10-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Continue reading

The pure-electric Battista hyper GT – the most powerful Italian car ever made – is in the final stages of its development with the first client deliveries set to commence in first half of 2022. With a total of 128 million interior combinations, the new hyper ~$2.9 million GT has complex levels of customization. Maserati claims that as with the MC20 coupé, the new model remains one of a kind, at least so far. The body is made exclusively of carbon fiber and composite materials. GMC Teases Electric Sierra Denali Pickup
As with the upcoming GMC HUMMER EV, the electric Sierra will be purposefully built on the Ultium Platform with the premium materials. The truck will be revealed next year and will be assembled in General Motors’ Factory ZERO Assembly Plant in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. Continue reading
First 2022 Toyota Tundra Built in Texas
In 2019, TMMTX announced an investment of $391 million to prepare for production of the 2022 Tundra, pushing its cumulative investment to more than $3.1 billion. The investment helped TMMTX prepare for production of the next generation Tundra by expanding its facility by 141,000 linear feet – equivalent to 470 football fields – for un-named new processes and technologies to bring the redesigned truck to customers. This included preparations to assemble a hybrid electric version Tundra – the brand’s 12th electrified vehicle. TMMTX is relatively small with the annual capacity to only build 208,000 vehicles. Ford F-150 Lightning Tows 10,000 Pounds in Colorado, Nevada
