Sierra Club Michigan Opposes CAFE Cuts
In January under the Obama administration, the EPA finalized its proposed decision on fuel efficiency standards, originally set in 2012. The decision kept the fuel economy goals at their current level through year 2025. This decision came after a technical assessment report, a 30-day comment period, a proposed decision, and a second 30-day comment period. EPA Standards to Cut Carbon Pollution from Dirty Coal Powerplants. Anti-Environment Republicans Vow Court Fights
EPA’s proposed standard is required by a 2007 Supreme Court ruling ordering the agency to move forward with regulation of greenhouse gases. New Steel Alloys can Outperform Aluminum and Carbon fiber
Part of the steel industry’s problem, aside from the overall lack of interest among technically illiterate consumers, is regulatory.
