Daimler Tries Deliveries Directly to Parked Cars in Berlin
The customers were satisfied with the in-car delivery service during the pilot in Stuttgart. GM Q2 Confirms US Economic Slowdown
Trump’s escalation of the trade wars will likely make things worse not only for GM, but Ford Motor and Fiat Chrysler as well. After GM released earnings, Trump said he would dictate a 10% tariff (aka tax on U.S. consumers on consumer goods and manufacturers on intermediate goods) on $300 billion worth of Chinese imports not already covered with penalties. This is the latest development in the restructuring of traditional automotive suppliers to concentrate on connected and autonomous vehicles. Bosch announced a year ago that it was looking for a buyer for its packaging technology business. The company is giving increasing attention to mobility and connectivity over the internet of things. Citing improved competitiveness, cost and capital efficiencies, as well as quicker time to a yet unknown, nebulous market, Volkswagen CEO Dr. Herbert Diess and Ford President and CEO Jim Hackett shared a stage for a discussion about a move that could make or break one or both companies. The alliance, which covers collaborations outside of Volkswagen and Ford’s joint investments in Argo AI, does not entail cross-ownership between the two companies and is independent from the investment into Argo AI. Hyundai, Kia Announce Autonomous Investment in Aurora
The move strengthens a partnership formed between the companies in 2018, under which Hyundai, Kia, and Aurora have been collaborating on self-driving technologies on Hyundai’s flagship fuel cell vehicle NEXO.
