Bad BMW Recalls on X, Battery Hybrid and Electrical Models

BMW of North America is recalling 2019 X3 sDrive30i, X3 xDrive30i, X3 M40i, and X4 M40i vehicles. The instrument panel assembly may have been improperly manufactured, affecting the deployment of the passenger’s frontal air bag. Subaru Recall – Ignition Switch May Turn Off

The ball spring inside the ignition switch may break, reducing the strength of the ignition switch. If this occurs, the weight on the key ring and certain road conditions could cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine. Ford Recalls 327,000 F-150s as Previous Fire Recall Failed

In inspected recalled trucks the engine block heater cable splice connectors may have “inadvertently become damaged during that service procedure.” A damaged block heater cable can cause an inoperative engine block heater and/or tripping of household breakers or GUCCI-equipped outlets or a resistive short, which can increase the risk of overheated or melted wiring and fire while the vehicle is parked, and the block heater is plugged in. Fiat-Chrysler Recalls More Than 850,000 Passenger Vehicles

In most of the country the real news is that this is a voluntary recall. But in California, drivers who fail to get the necessary repairs will not be able to register their vehicles. NOx emissions in California are the most important contributor to ambient ozone and a key contributor to fine particulate matter pollution (PM 2.5) which is associated with premature death, asthma emergency room visits, increased hospitalizations due to exacerbation of chronic heart and lung diseases, and other serious negative health problems. Chinese Junk Watch – Black & Decker DR560 Drill/Driver

The side handle sold with the drill can slip or break, leading to a loss of control of the tool, posing an injury hazard . About 641,000 (in addition, about 18,000 were sold in Canada) potentially dangerous drills are in the hands of customers. Black & Decker has received 11 reports of side handles slipping or breaking and one report of a torn rotator cuff injury.
