Nissan Shows Cummins Diesel Frontier Pickup at CAS
It looks as if Nissan will join the mid-size pickup diesel parade based on a concept truck created to gauge consumer interest in a next-generation Frontier with a Cummins diesel engine. First shown at the Chicago Auto Show, aka CAS, it is powered by a 2.8-liter Cummins turbo diesel with nearly 200 horsepower, and more than 350 lb.-ft. of torque. The estimated fuel economy increases 35% compared to the current Frontier V6. Continue reading

Diesel to Comprise More than 12% of Global Sales by 2018
A new report claims that rising fuel prices and stronger fuel economy regulations will increase demand for diesel vehicles in markets around the world. Sales of diesel vehicles will increase from 9.1 million in 2012 to 12.1 million annually by 2018, with diesels representing 12.4% of all light vehicle sales by the end of that period. Ford and PSA Peugeot Citroën to Drop JV on Diesel Engines
PSA Peugeot Citroën and Ford said today that the companies have decided to independently develop and manufacture their larger diesel engines displacing more than 2-liters starting in 2015. Western Europe – BEVs Gaining Share. Diesel Threatened.
