Honda and JMC Nickel-Metal Hydride Recycling Yields 99% Pure Rare Earth Metals in World’s First Mass Production Process

Honda Makes Money on End of Life Car Recycling in Japan

Honda Motor Company in its annual report covering end of life car recycling in Japan said today it made money on the sustainability program that is part of Japanese regulations. The total cost of the recycling efforts amounted to ¥3.48 billion ($44.55 million), which was ¥290 million ($3.7 million) less than the total recycling proceeds received which was ¥3.77 billion yen. BP Oil Spill Spawns Chevrolet Volt Plastic Parts

General Motors announced this morning that it has a process to convert the boom material used to soak up spewing oil in the Gulf of Mexico from the BP Oil spill disaster into plastic parts for its Chevrolet vehicles. The ongoing project is expected to create enough parts to supply the first year of production of the Chevrolet Volt hybrid vehicle that has just gone on sale. Continue reading →
