LG Energy Solution, Toyota Sign Long-Term Battery Deal
The deal is LG Energy Solution’s largest single supply agreement secured outside of its many joint ventures. The company now supplies its batteries to all top five global automakers[based on 2022 sales]. The company has eight battery manufacturing facilities currently operating or under construction in North America, and continues to expand both its production network and supply chain in the region. PACCAR, Toyota to Sell Fuel Cell Trucks in 2024

Toyota Patents in Top Five of Intellectual Property Owners Assn
The ranking represents the highest ever achieved in the list’s 40-year history. Toyota said that this further reinforces its position as a leader in technology and innovation among the world’s best-known brands. Of the 3056 patents the company was awarded in 2022, nearly half are for future mobility, including 26% around electrification targeting vehicles, batteries and materials, and 14% focused on automation and safety. Toyota Motor North America Reports December 2020 Sales Increase 22.9%. Yearly Sales Drop -11.3%
For the year, Toyota reported sales of 1,837,900 vehicles, down 11.9% on a volume basis and down 12.4% on a DSR basis. Lexus division posted December sales of 38,223 vehicles, up 8.2% on a volume basis and down 3.4% on a DSR basis. For the year, Lexus reported sales of 275,041 vehicles, down 7.7% on a volume basis and down 8.3% on a DSR basis. Continue reading

It’s the latest attempt to position Toyota as an American company against the background booms of the Trump trade wars. Toyota has 14 manufacturing plants in North America – if you count Mexico, which is also under siege. There are ten in the U.S. There are 1500 dealerships here. Toyota Motor North America September Sales off 20%
Toyota Motor North America (NYSE: TM) posted U.S. September sales of 162,595 vehicles, down 20.3% on a volume basis and down 9.9% on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis versus September 2023. This is consistent with the expected industry sales slump evident at all other automakers thus far. September electrified vehicle sales consisting of hybrids, plug-in hybrids, pure electrics and fuel cells were 48.4% of total sales volume and totaled 78,683, up 22.4% on a volume basis and up 38.3 % on a DSR basis.
