Hyundai Motor Updates Growth and Profit Strategy
Hyundai Motor Company (KRX: 005380 KS) in New York today unveiled its latest growth strategy at the company’s first CEO Investor Day held outside of Korea. The event served as a stage to convey the company’s mid-to long-term strategy to investors and stakeholders, prompted in large part by Trump’s tariff wars.

Trumped? Hyundai Says It Will Maintain Current MSRPs
Hyundai Motor America today launched a Customer Assurance program “in response to dynamic market conditions and the potential impact of tariffs on the automotive industry.” This proposal may help customers who purchase or lease any new Hyundai vehicle between today and 2 June 2025. They might not see any increase in the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) during the protection period. Genesis is also part of the proposal. However, dealers are able to set actual price of a vehicle under various State franchise laws and regulations. [See footnote 1] This appears to be a negotiating strategy with the lame-duck U.S. president, aka April Fool, who has just presented Wall Street with its worst week since the last Trump Administration. The company’s revenue during the July-September period rose 8.8% year on year to KRW 46.72 trillion, marking its highest-ever third-quarter revenue. Strong sales in the U.S. and Europe, as well as favorable foreign exchange rates contributed to the company’s revenue growth. However, Q3 operating profit stood at KRW 2.54 trillion, down 29.2% YoY, with an operating profit margin of 5.4%.
