Milestones – Production Begins for Ford F-150 Lightning EV
Ford Motor, whose existence was tenuous during the Great Recession, is now the top automaker in America in terms of 2021 production, sales of US-made vehicles and employment of hourly autoworkers. The F-150 Lightning is the only full-size electric pickup available now with a starting price less than $40,000. Ford F-Series has been America’s best-selling truck for 45 years running and is second only to the iPhone in revenue among all American consumer products, according to a 2020 study. Continue reading
Chinese Commerce – Dongfeng Honda Begins Sale of NS1 EV
The all-new e:NS1 and e:NP1 are the first of the so-called “e:N Series” models developed as the first Honda-brand EV models in China. The newly created e:N architecture consists of an electric motor that delivers instantaneous output and a claimed subtle control in various driving situations. The original Ford GT40 prototype debuted at the 1964 New York Auto Show. Now Ford is returning to New YAWK for the first public appearance of its new GT Heritage Edition – the 2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Edition. This marks the final 2022 Heritage Edition paying tribute to the GT40 MK II race car that completed the famous 1-2-3 sweep at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966, with wins from 1966 to 1969, and in born-again form in 2016. Genesis Opens First US Standalone Retail Store
Genesis of Lafayette is the first of many planned retail facilities for the brand in the United States. Six more locations are currently under construction with an additional twenty in early planning stages. Genesis of Lafayette is owned and operated by dealer principal Arthur C. Volta Trucks Road Show Heading to Madrid
Following the promised start of production this year, the vehicles could be in circulation in Madrid during 2023, a city that exceeded the EU’s air quality standard in 2021. Volta Trucks plans to produce 5,000 vehicles throughout Europe in 2023, increasing to 14,000 in 2024, 27,000 in 2025. The 16-tonne vehicle is the first of the four variants which range between 7.5- and 18-tonnes. Continue reading

Electrify America Redesigns its Charging Stations
Basically, it is adding things such as solar canopies and awnings, customer waiting areas and other customer-focused services at some locations. The company plans to showcase this transition with installation in 2022 and 2023 in select new flagship charging facilities in Santa Barbara, San Francisco, San Diego and Beverly Hills, California and in New York within Manhattan and Brooklyn. Ford F-150 Lightning Tows 10,000 Pounds in Colorado, Nevada
Ford Motor said today that last month a 2022 F-150 Lightning ran the Ike Gauntlet towing 10,000 pounds*. Ford also said the F-150 Lightning was tested on the extreme grades of Davis Dam. Continue reading
Toyota and ChargePoint to offer Home, Public EV Charging
The Toyota bZ4X is the first of a global series of battery-electric vehicles to be introduced under the “Toyota bZ” brand umbrella. Other partners in the green juggernaut now under full sail include BYD, Daihatsu and Suzuki. Toyota plans to introduce 15 BEV models by 2025, including seven new BEV models of the Toyota bZ series. The Toyota U.S. lineup in total, accounts for more than 40% of all alternative powertrain vehicles sold in the U.S. – including battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell electrics, hybrids and plug-in hybrids.
