US September Auto Sales Projected Down -25%

“The mismatch between strong consumer demand and constrained inventory is leading to higher vehicle prices.  In September 2021, average transaction prices are expected reach an all-time high of $42,802, the fourth consecutive month over $40,000,” said Thomas King, president of the data and analytics division at J.D. Ford Motor Expanding Home Pickup & Delivery

With more than 3,100 dealers in the U.S., Ford appears to be the only full line auto brand to offer Pickup & Delivery to millions of customers. Since March 2020, Ford says it has made ~100,000 Pickup & Delivery services in the U.S. The process requires  customers call their local dealer to schedule an appointment and request an at-home or at-work pickup. On the day of service, customers receive updates via phone, text or e-mail to keep them informed of their vehicle’s progress, and it’s delivered back as soon as the service is complete. No Surprises in J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Initial Quality Study

“Owners are caught in the middle when vehicle and phone technologies don’t properly connect,” said Dave Sargent, vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power. “This year there are many examples of smartphone technology not working as intended in new vehicles. It will allow Stellantis to provide customers and dealers a range of financing options, including retail loans, leases, and floorplan financing in the near term. Bridgestone Recalls Alenza, Dueler, Ecopia, Turanza and Firestone Destination Tires for Leaks

A Tire Laser Marking System which uses laser light to mark certain information on tire sidewalls, malfunctioned. The malfunction caused the laser to remain stationary and burn a pinhole into the tire sidewall near the first digit of the Tire Identification Number date code – the last 4- digits of the TIN.
