VW Group Electric Shuffle – Emden, Hanover to build EVs

In the future, electric small cars and sedans from several brands will be built in Emden, while Hanover will specialize in the production of the ID. BUZZ family, in addition to building vehicles with conventional drives. I.D. BUZZ, a VW Microbus like EV, will arrive at dealerships after a compact four-door I.D. model in 2022. Chinese Junk Watch – Black & Decker DR560 Drill/Driver

The side handle sold with the drill can slip or break, leading to a loss of control of the tool, posing an injury hazard . About 641,000 (in addition, about 18,000 were sold in Canada) potentially dangerous drills are in the hands of customers. Black & Decker has received 11 reports of side handles slipping or breaking and one report of a torn rotator cuff injury. Mercedes-Benz Construction for U.S. Battery Factory Underway

The new production site for batteries – along with the new Consolidation Center – is located seven miles from the Mercedes-Benz Cars vehicle production site in Tuscaloosa. The Consolidation Center, also part of a 2017 investment announcement, will consist of three major areas, including the body parts preparation area, the assembly parts preparation area and the empties storage. IndustriALL Renews Global Agreement with German Multinational Parts Supplier Rheinmetall

The new agreement was signed between Rheinmetall and IndustriALL at the company’s headquarters in Dusseldorf on 12 October 2018. The agreement is said to build on worker and trade union protections across the company’s global supply chain.
