Ford Motor Recalls a Previous Hybrid Powertrain Recall

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) is recalling some 2022-2024 Maverick, 2022 Escape, and 2021-2022 Lincoln Corsair vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 24V-330. The Hybrid Powertrain Control Module (HPCM) software may cause the vehicle to shift into neutral unexpectedly, causing a loss of drive power.

“The Ford process is capable of determining which software part numbers have been installed in production and service. Affected vehicles do not contain the remedy Hybrid Powertrain Control Module (HPCM) software for recall 24S33, Ford Motor said in the mandatory Safety Defect Filing made public today by the still functioning National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Volkswagen Group EV Recall for Sudden Loss of Power

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling~14,000 2024-2025 model year AUDI Q4 E-Tron SUV, AUDI Q4 E-Tron Sportback, and 2024 VW ID.4 vehicles. The on-board charger (OCDC) may fail and stop charging the 12-volt battery, which can result in an unexpected loss of drive power. The defective component was made by Robert Bosch in Hungary. Kia Recalls Seltos and Soul Models for Fires

“Due to a quality deviation by the piston oil ring supplier, Dongsuh Federal-Mogul, the piston ring may, over time, damage the surface of the cylinder wall. This may lead to increased oil consumption which will eventually result in abnormal noise from the engine and/or illumination of the oil pressure warning light. If the vehicle is continually operated in this condition, engine damage and/or seizure can occur, resulting in loss of motive power. In limited cases, a fire may occur from engine oil leaking onto a hot exhaust component due to a hole in the engine block,” Kia said in the mandatory safety defect recall filing to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is apparently still operating with hard-working people in spite of the Trump Administration. Mercedes-Benz USA Recalls ~20,000 Cars for Bad Brakes

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) is recalling more than 20,000 model year  2021-2022 S 500, Maybach S 580 4MATIC, 2021-2023 S 580 4MATIC, 2022 S 680 4MATIC, and 2023 S 580e 4MATIC vehicles. The front brake hoses may rupture and leak brake fluid.

“Due to climatic factors and the resulting material behavior, affected brake hoses might not meet durability specifications. Before the issue occurs, the driver will not receive a warning due to the nature of the failure mechanism. When the issue occurs, the driver might notice a red brake fluid warning message in the instrument cluster,” Mercedes-Benz said in the required safety defect recall document to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Software Bugs – VW Recalling Golf GTI Models

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling more than 8000 model year 2022-2024 Golf GTI vehicles. A software error may delay or deactivate the rearview camera image, resulting in the rearview camera image not displaying as designed.

The recall population was determined by reviewing factory vehicle build and vehicle maintenance records to identify vehicles that are equipped with the entry infotainment system software versions 1766 or 1767. Vehicles not included in this recall were built with, or updated to, entry infotainment system software version 1805,” VW told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the mandatory safety defect recall filing, which is apparently still operating with hard-working government employees in spite of the Trump Administration. FAA to Increase Air Traffic Controller Trainee Hiring

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy today announced a new plan to increase the hiring of air traffic controllers. This announcement followed a tour of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Academy at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center after a series of disastrous and fatal incidents under the unfriendly skies of Trump 2.0.

“Today’s visit reaffirmed how being an air traffic controller is one of the best, most rewarding jobs in America, and that the next generation at the Academy is the best in the world. Stellantis Unveils STLA AutoDrive

Stellantis (NYSE: STLA) today debuted  STLA AutoDrive 1.0, the Company’s first in-house-developed automated driving system. It claims to deliver Hands-Free and Eyes-Off (SAE Level 3) functionality. STLA AutoDrive is a key to Stellantis’ technology strategy, alongside STLA Brain and STLA Smart Cockpit, by advancing vehicle intelligence, automation and user experience. STLA AutoDrive enables automated driving at speeds up to 60 km/h (37 mph), reducing driver workload in stop-and-go traffic. It’s described as ideal for commuters in dense urban areas since , STLA AutoDrive will allow drivers to temporarily engage in non-driving tasks such as watching a movie, catching up on emails, reading a book or simply looking out the window, reclaiming valuable time. Toyota and Lexus Recalls for Bad Safety Belts

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling ~50,000 2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid, Lexus NX250, NX350, NX350 Hybrid, 2024-2025 Lexus RX350, RX350 Hybrid, and RX500 Hybrid vehicles for damaged Mexican made seat belts.

“The second-row center seat belt webbing may be damaged. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209, Seat Belt Assemblies,” Toyota told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the mandatory safety defect filing made public by NHTSA today. Hyundai Motor America recalls 2025 IONIQ 5 EVs

Hyundai Motor America is recalling 2025 IONIQ 5 EV vehicles. The rear floor wiring harness may contain an open circuit, which can result in the rear side airbag not deploying as intended, according to the mandatory safety recall filing made public by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration today. The driving will see the Illumination of the airbag warning lamp. Penske Automotive Group Posts Record Q4 Revenue of $7.7B

“I am pleased with our financial performance during the fourth quarter. Revenue increased 6% to $7.7 billion, a quarterly record. New and used automotive gross profit per unit retailed remained strong, including a $74 per unit sequential increase in new vehicle gross profit per unit retailed when compared to the third quarter of 2024, and same-store service and parts revenue and gross profit increased 7% and 9%, respectively,” said Chair Roger Penske.
The Company’s Board of Directors has approved a quarterly dividend of $1.22 per share, representing an increase of 2.5%, or $0.03 per share. This represents the Company’s 17th consecutive quarterly increase. The dividend is payable March 6, 2025, to shareholders of record as of February 24, 2025.
