Volkswagen Group China Builds First Factory for EV Modules
The VW Group’s first factory specifically designed for the so-called MEB platform (it’s a modular EV drive adaptable to multiple models) is now under construction in Anting. The first vehicle that will be produced in the factory of SAIC Volkswagen is a Volkswagen Brand SUV in 2020. Together with the FAW-Volkswagen factory in Foshan, which opened this summer, SAIC Volkswagen’s plant will begin to produce e-cars on the MEB platform directly after the first worldwide MEB-production starts in Zwickau, Germany. Daimler Takes Lead in F1 Driver and Maker’s Championship
Presumptive World Champion Lewis Hamilton came home in P3, racing to the 15th podium for Mercedes-Benz Power. It would be Hamilton’s fifth World Championship title – he needed to win to clinch before the next race in Mexico, with two more races remaining after that. Center for Auto Safety Demands Recall of 2.9 Million 2011-2014 Kia and Hyundai Vehicles for Fires
There have been more than 220 consumer complaints regarding non-collision fires in these vehicles submitted to NHTSA and the Center for Auto Safety combined. Between June 12 and October 12, 2018, the Center learned of 103 additional fire reports, an 85% increase. Continue reading →
