GM Defense Delivers First Infantry Squad Vehicle to US Army

The ISV is based off the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 mid-size truck architecture and use 90% commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) parts, including Chevrolet Performance race components. The 5,000-pound ISV was engineered to fulfill military requirements and designed to provide rapid ground mobility. The expeditionary ISV is light enough to be sling loaded from a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter and compact enough to fit inside a CH-47 Chinook helicopter for air transportability. The parts, combined with the ISV’s Rollover Protection System, should provide agile transportability on the battlefield. Continue reading

Hyundai Recalls 2019-2021 Tucson SUVs for Fires

In the required NHTSA filing, Hyundai said it recommends parking these vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. GM Claims Wireless Battery Management for Future EVs

It is hoped that wBMS, will get GM’s Ultium-powered EVs to market faster because time won’t be needed to develop specific communications systems or redesign complex wiring designs for each new vehicle. It has already sped the creation of more automotive engineering/marketing jargon powered by acronyms.
