Chinese Junk Watch – Dick’s Sporting Goods

At least 12 injuries have been reported because of broken tubes. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and return them to the nearest Dick’s Sporting Goods store. Sierra Club Michigan Opposes CAFE Cuts

In January under the Obama administration, the EPA finalized its proposed decision on fuel efficiency standards, originally set in 2012. The decision kept the fuel economy goals at their current level through year 2025. This decision came after a technical assessment report, a 30-day comment period, a proposed decision, and a second 30-day comment period. The Sierra Club and allies submitted more than 400,000 comments in support of the standards. Critics claim that the review was conducted too hastily. Continue reading

Toyota, 7-Eleven Japan to Study Fuel Cell Trucks

Fuel cell trucks, where the refrigeration/freezer unit, and the truck itself, are powered by fuel cells, will be introduced as refrigerator/freezer trucks for stores with the goal of reducing CO2 emissions. Michigan has Costliest Auto Insurance. Maine Lowest

Maine, Ohio and Idaho all have competitive insurance marketplaces and less expensive car insurance premiums, according to a new study. Michigan was labelled the most expensive state for car insurance for the fourth consecutive year. The lowest Michigan has even been on the most expensive list is third, back in 2012. It’s a disgrace from a broken, lawyer dominated system. That was the year that Louisiana, who claimed second place this year for most expensive, took the No. 1 spot. Continue reading

Continental, Magna Drive Two Autonomous Cars to CAR Conference

The automated driving vehicles crossed into Windsor, Ontario before going north to Sarnia, Ontario and returning into Michigan. General Motors Closes Deal on Selling Opel/Vauxhall

This ends almost 100 years of GM in Europe, leaving only the slow expansion of the Cadillac brand, and the sale – it’s more like a hobby than a business – of niche vehicles, the Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette, both imports, as GM’s only presence in the world’s third largest vehicle market.
