Stellantis (NYSE: STLA / Euronext Milan: STLAM / Euronext Paris: STLAP) said today that consolidated shipments for the three months ending March 31, 2026, were an estimated 1.4 million units, up 12% year-over-year.*

Isuzu Motors (OTC: ISUZY, 7202T) and Toyota Motor (NYSE: TM, 7203T) said today that they have agreed to collaborate on the development toward the mass production of a next-generation light-duty fuel cell (FC) electric truck.*

“The vehicle is based on Isuzu’s ELF EV BEV (footnote 3 below) light-duty truck and combines Toyota’s new fuel cell system (3rd-generation FC system footnote 2). Both companies will jointly develop the system to ensure its compatibility, and aiming to start production in FY2027. Both companies will further advance technologies capable of supporting the high-utilization operating conditions unique to commercial vehicles, based on its multi-pathway approach to powertrains, while helping build a hydrogen society and carbon neutral logistics sector,” the Japanese companies said in a release. American Honda (7267.T and NYSE: HMC) said today that it is recalling ~440,000 model-year 2018-2022 Odyssey vans in the U.S. to reprogram or replace the airbag (SRS ECU) module.

“The SRS ECU deployment threshold margin calibration was too sensitive to under-body impacts, which could cause the side curtain or side airbags to deploy unexpectedly when subjected to strong impacts caused by potholes, speed bumps, or debris on the road, increasing the risk of a crash or injury. Trumped – Used Car Prices Spike after Hitting 12-Month Low

IONNA today announced a partnership with the convenience brand Circle K to expand access to high-powered EV charging across the United States. The partnership moves forward IONNA’s aspiration to build 30,000 high-power charging bays by 2030. IONNA was founded in 2023 by BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis. Toyota subsequently joined the joint venture.*

IndyCar announced today an expansion of controversial Firestone Fast Six single-car qualifying, including an updated format, for the remaining four street circuit events of the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season. This starts with the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach to be held on Friday-Sunday, April 17-19 on the Streets of Long Beach.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne) today selected 20 universities to participate in the EcoCAR Innovation Challenge. This is the 15th episode of DOE’s Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions (AVTC) series, which challenges university students to design and build “intelligent mobility solutions and innovative products” using emerging technologies, now including artificial intelligence for engineering tools, machine learning, and exascale computing. Mercedes-Benz Group (MBG.DE, MBGAF OTC U.S.) sold 499,700 cars and vans globally during Q1 2026. Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) reported retail sales of 78,500 vehicles during Q1 of 2026, with 70,000 passenger cars and 8500 vans.*

Porsche AG (P911.DE) said today that it delivered a total of 60,991 vehicles to customers worldwide in the first quarter of the year (previous year: 71,470), representing a decline of 15%. The discontinuation of tax incentives for electric and hybrid vehicles in the United States by the Trump mis-Administration was clearly a factor as North America is Porsche’s largest market.*

“Following the end of the combustion-engine 718 and the strong deliveries of the fully electric Macan at market launch, our figures are below the prior‑year level but are overall in line with our expectations. Volkswagen Group of America has updated its production plans in the U.S. market for the Volkswagen brand. Volkswagen’s Chattanooga assembly plant will shift its primary focus to higher‑volume models in North America. Chattanooga, formerly the only VW plant without worker representation, now is a UAW plant. The launch of the all‑new, second‑generation Atlas for model year 2027 begins production this summer. Atlas will be available in dealerships this fall.*

The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline went up 8 cents since last week to $4.16, according to the latest data published by AAA. The last time the national average reached that price was in early August of 2022.*

“Crude oil prices remain high, even as they’ve fluctuated in recent days following the announcement of a 2-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran. AB Volvo held its Annual General Meeting today in Göteborg, Sweden. The Board adopted the income statement and balance sheet, as well as the consolidated income statement and the consolidated balance sheet. In accordance with the Board’s proposal, the Meeting resolved that an ordinary dividend of SEK 8.50 per share and an extraordinary dividend of SEK 4.50 per share should be paid to the shareholders – 10 April 2026 is the record date for the right to receive dividends.*
